BANDA ACEH - The President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo, sent 15 thousand packages of necessities and medicines to flood victims in three districts in Aceh.

The assistance was handed over by the Indonesian Presidential Sespri Team, Captain Inf. Nofri Arita and received directly by the Commander of Korem (Danrem) 011/Lilawangsa Colonel Inf. Bayu Permana in Lhokseumawe, Friday, January 7th.

Danrem 011/Lilawangsa Colonel Inf Bayu Permana said the assistance was a form of concern, social spirit, and concern for Indonesian President Joko Widodo for flood victims in Aceh.

"This food package assistance will be distributed to 13,400 North Aceh flood victims and the rest will be distributed to flood victims in East Aceh and Aceh Tamiang", Colonel Inf Bayu Permana said as quoted by Antara.

Colonel Inf Bayu Permana said the assistance would be distributed by members of the TNI from several units and directly given to recipients at the evacuation post.

"In North Aceh, there are 13,000 families affected by flooding as recipients of assistance from President Jokowi. We will immediately distribute it", he said.

Colonel Inf Bayu Permana hopes that the assistance will ease the burden on residents affected by the floods and are still living in refugee camps.

"We hope that the flood will recede quickly. We also continue to urge the public to follow the health protocols, so that the community remains healthy even though the current condition is a disaster", said Colonel Inf Bayu Permana.
