PPKM Level 4 Extended, Read More Flight Requirements

JAKARTA - PT Angkasa Pura I (Persero) fully supports the implementation of the PPKM Level 4 extension policy which is valid from 26 July to 2 August. AP I will oversee the provisions of domestic travelers.

"In connection with the announcement of the extension of PPKM Level 4 which is valid until next August 2, we can convey that PT Angkasa Pura I (Persero) as the manager of 15 airports in the territory of Indonesia strictly and consistently supervises the travel provisions of domestic people via air transportation," said President Director of PT Angkasa Pura I (Persero) Faik Fahmi as quoted by Antara, Monday, July 26.

"We are also coordinating with a number of airport community agencies in its implementation. Our officers in the field have strictly implemented health protocols. All this is done to reduce the rate of transmission of COVID-19 in air transportation modes," he continued.

Faik said that the air travel provisions were based on the Circular of the Ministry of Transportation Number SE 53 of 2021 concerning Amendments to the Circular Letter of the Minister of Transportation Number SE 45 of 2021 concerning Guidelines for the Implementation of Domestic Travel by Air Transportation during the Corona Virus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) Pandemic Period. 19).

The Circular Letter is a refinement of the Circular Letter of the Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub) Number SE 45 of 2021 which was issued following the stipulation of Emergency PPKM on 3 July.

In Circular Letter Number SE 53 of 2021 which officially takes effect on July 19, it stipulates the requirements for prospective passengers on flights between airports on Java Island, flights from or to airports on Java Island, and flights from or to airports on Bali Island, namely:

1. First vaccine certificate;

2. Certificate of negative RT-PCR test results whose samples are taken a maximum of 2x24 hours before departure.

Meanwhile, prospective airplane passengers with routes outside Java and Bali are required to complete themselves with the following requirements:

1. Certificate of negative RT-PCR test results whose samples were taken a maximum of 2x24 hours before departure; or a certificate of negative rapid antigen test results whose samples are taken a maximum of 1x24 hours before departure.

In the Circular Letter, it is stipulated that the obligation to show vaccine certificates is excluded for prospective aircraft passengers with the following categories:

1. Prospective passengers with special medical interests who are not/not vaccinated for medical reasons based on a statement from a specialist doctor;

2. Patients with serious illness;

3. Pregnant women who are accompanied by 1 (one) family member;

4. The importance of childbirth with a companion of a maximum of 2 (two) people; and

5. Delivery of non-COVID-19 bodies with a maximum number of 5 (five) people.

"During the implementation of this Emergency PPKM, there was a downward trend in the number of movements of passengers, aircraft, and cargo at the airports we manage. For passengers, there was a very drastic decline, up to 76 percent. For aircraft and cargo movements, each It can be said that this decline is a sign that the Emergency PPKM policy is able to suppress the movement of citizens through air transportation," he said.

Faik Fahmi emphasized that although air transport traffic has decreased quite drastically, this does not reduce the commitment to continue to provide the best service for airport service users.

In addition, his party consistently applies health protocols at the 15 airports it manages. Especially for cargo services, including for export and import services, it is ensured that they will continue to operate normally and smoothly.

"In times like today, the movement of goods via air transportation must continue to run smoothly in order to be able to control the economy, which has been significantly affected by the pandemic," concluded Faik Fahmi.
