JAKARTA - Instagram has just introduced a translation feature for its Stories. This feature is known to cover 90 languages and provide a new experience for users.
Through his official Twitter page quoted from The Verge, Friday July 23, Instagram CEO, Adam Mosseri said this feature was previously available in Feeds, Profiles and Comments, but he only managed to bring it to Stories.
"When you view a story with captions, you'll get a 'view translation' notification if your language is different from the one in the story," says Mosseri.
The translation feature in Instagram Stories works the same as the translation for Feeds. This feature will translate the text automatically. The translation will follow the language settings installed on Instagram.
New: text translations in stories When you're watching a story with text, you'll get a 'See Translation' notice if your set language is different than the one in the story. This feature exists for feed, profile and comments and I'm excited to bring it to stories. pic.twitter.com/EsKH2njhL6

How to Use the Stories Translate Feature
For users who can't wait to try this new feature, don't worry. As already explained, this feature will automatically detect a language that is different from the application setting language, so the "see translation" feature will appear at the top of the screen, just below the username.
For example, if the user has set their language to English for the Instagram app. So, users will find Instagram Stories with subtitles in Indonesian, and the "see translation" option will appear.
Then, click the option to see the translation of the Indonesian text into English that appears in a pop-up at the bottom of the screen.
For language settings in the Instagram app, go to profile, select settings, then click account, tap language and select the desired language.
The English, Chinese, Japanese, Arabic, and French versions are automatically generated by the AI. So there may still be inaccuracies in translating, please always see Indonesian as our main language. (system supported by DigitalSiber.id)
