Bogor Returns To Odd-Even Starting From Friday This Week

BOGOR - The Bogor COVID-19 Handling Task Force re-enacted the odd-even policy for motorized vehicles in Bogor, West Java, at the weekend. Odd-even applies from Friday to Sunday, July 25.

"The task force is trying to continue the implementation of the odd-even policy, from Friday to Sunday tomorrow, and the results will be evaluated", said Bogor City Police Chief, Kombes Susatyo P Condro, at Bogor City Hall, quoted by Antara, Wednesday, July 21.

According to him, if the odd-even implementation for motorized vehicles is effective in reducing community mobility, it will be continued on working days for 24 hours in rotation.

In the implementation of odd-even policies, he said, the pattern is no longer restricting people outside the critical and essential sectors but is replaced by regulating people's mobility.

For example, shopping for daily necessities or shopping for drugs, thereby reducing mass accumulation at the same time.

"The pattern has been changed, from prohibiting to regulating, so that people take turns to be patient in shopping for daily necessities, including medicines and other necessities", he said.

Susatyo explained that during the implementation of the odd-even policy, starting on Friday, July 23, the location of the blockage was implemented within the city and at the city limits, taking turns for 24 hours.

"The location of the blocking will be notified about two hours before the odd-even implementation takes effect", he said.

In the upcoming odd-even implementation, exceptions will still be applied for emergency vehicles, such as ambulances, fire trucks, vehicles on duty, necessities vehicles, and online vehicles.
