AMBON - President Joko Widodo donated a 900 kg sacrificial cow to the people of Maluku who will celebrate Eid al-Adha.

The Brahman cow was handed over by the Head of the Welfare Bureau of the Maluku provincial government, Adji Muhammad, to the Great Mosque of Alfatah Ambon, which was received by the Grand Imam of the KH mosque. RR. Hasanussi.

"It is hoped that the cows donated by President Joko widodo can be sacrificed during Eid al-Adha and distributed to people in need," said Adji, who was accompanied by the Acting Head of the Maluku Agriculture Office, Djasmin Badjak, quoted by Antara, Monday, July 19.

In addition to the President's assistance cows, according to Adji, this year the Maluku Provincial Government also handed over 130 sacrificial animals consisting of 80 cows and 50 goats.

"This year, the Maluku Provincial Government's assistance for sacrificial animals has been handed over to the sacrificial festival committee in Ambon City, Central Maluku and South Buru," he said.

He also mentioned that the cattle donated by Maluku Governor Murad Ismail had also been handed over in Hila Village, Leihitu Subdistrict, Ambon Island, Central Maluku Regency, on Saturday, July 17. The Ongole cattle were imported from the West Seram Regency (SBB).

The Grand Imam of the Al-Fatah Grand Mosque, Ambon, KH. RR Hasanussy expressed his deep gratitude to President Jokowi for the assistance of the sacrificial animals.

"Hopefully Allah SWT will give the President a great reward and give protection to our nation so that the development process goes well," he said.

Meanwhile, Acting Head of Agriculture Department of Maluku Province, Djasmin Badjak, stated that President Jokowi's assistance cow was only five years old. The cow is the result of cross-breeding or Artificial Insemination (IB) from Brahman and Bali cattle.

President Jokowi's cows were purchased from cattle breeders in Buru Regency for IDR 75 million. "The payment for the sacrificial animals comes directly from the State Palace through the account of the breeder in Buru, not through the office," he said.

He said the President handed over sacrificial animals at the Eid al-Adha celebration every year, and the sacrificial animals were purchased from Buru Island.

"Indeed, Buru is prepared as a center for breeding superior types of cattle resulting from artificial insemination, so that the weight can reach 900 kg, or even more," he said.
