DPR Asks Central Kalimantan Police To Investigate The Origin Of Methamphetamine Consumpted By Police To Kill Expedition Drivers

Member of Commission III of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Rikwanto, asked the Central Kalimantan Regional Police (Kalteng) to thoroughly investigate the origin of the methamphetamine drug used by members of the Palangka Raya Police, Central Kalimantan, Brigadier Anton Kurniawan Setiyanto (AKS) when he killed the pickup driver of the initials BA (32).

During a hearing with Commission III of the DPR, Central Kalimantan Police Chief Inspector General Djoko Poerwanto admitted that Brigadier Anton was proven to have used methamphetamine after being arrested.

"He was determined as a suspect after more than a week, but maybe his urine was taken, his blood was taken, yes. When he did, was there methamphetamine there?" asked Rikwanto to the Central Kalimantan Police Chief at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Central Jakarta, Tuesday, December 17.

Rikwanto asked the Central Kalimantan Police to dig further into how the perpetrators used methamphetamine.

"This is after being arrested, checking for soap, when doing soap or not? Or there is a story that he regularly uses methamphetamine. Where did the supplier come from? Where did he buy it? How did he use it?" said Rikwanto.

Rikwanto also highlighted the ease with which police officers misuse firearms. He wondered why many members were easy to take up arms when facing civilians.

Moreover, he said, this is not the first time this has happened where police have killed residents.

What we are highlighting is why it is so easy for Polri members to hold weapons and then use them to other parties. Yes, if we look at the story earlier, it's easy for him to turn around, you know, play around again, you know, bang," he said.

Previously, Central Kalimantan Police Chief Inspector General Djoko Poerwanto revealed the perpetrator of the murder of the expedition driver, Brigadier Anton Kurniawan Setiyanto, who fired two shots while killing the victim.

Djoko said the victim was driving a Grand max which was aimed at transporting an expedition from Banjarmasin. The perpetrator then invited the victim to get in the car and come to the post and then 38.

"Then Haryono's brother was ordered by Anton to run the vehicle towards the casongan," he said.

But on the way, the perpetrator asked the witness to turn around. On that occasion, the witness heard the perpetrator shot the victim.

"At that position, Haryono heard a gunshot eruption where the victim's sitting position was next to Haryono's brother," said Djoko.

After the first shot, Djoko said the perpetrator ordered the witness to turn the vehicle back towards Kasongan. Then, the perpetrator again fired a second shot.

"And it was heard that Anton had another second eruption," he said.

After killing the victim, the perpetrator then took an expedition car and dumped the victim's body on the side of the road.

"Then on the following day, Tuesday, December 10, 2024, Haryono visited the Palangkaraya Police in terms of giving the incident that I mentioned earlier, we must confirm the information given by Haryono to the Palangkaraya Police," said Djoko.
