The Sar Team Is Still Looking For A Taiwanese Foreigner Who Disappeared In The Thousand Islands

JAKARTA - The Sar team continues to search for a Taiwanese citizen named Shi Yi who was missing, when the speedboat KM Parikudus was traveling overturned around the waters of Rambut Island, Untung Island, Java, South Thousand Islands, North Jakarta, Monday, March 11.

"Today we are still searching... At 06.45 we have started to move," said Head of SAR Ops Agung Priambodo in a short message, Wednesday, March 13.

Agung said that the search involved the Navy, Police, and the North Jakarta Fire and Rescue Service (Damkar).

"The search is expanded, also BSG Basarnas involved," he said.

The incident of the speedboat KM Parikudus carrying 32 passengers and three crew members (ABK). Dozens of passengers consist of 22 Indonesian citizens, 5 Chinese citizens, 4 Taiwanese citizens, and one Korean citizen.

"34 survivors and 1 passenger for Taiwanese citizens are still being searched," said Thousand Islands Police Chief AKBP Jarot Sungkowo, Monday, March 11.

Jarot explained that the incident began when the KM Pari Kudus ship was crossing from the Asha Resort on Payung Island to Mutiara Beach, North Jakarta. However, due to being hit by large waves, the ship capsized.
