JAMBI - The Jambi Provincial Government received assistance from the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) in the form of four helicopters to anticipate and support the handling of forest and land fires (karhutla) this year in the area.

"The helicopter has arrived and is still on standby at Sultan Thaha Jambi Airport," said Jambi Province Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) Chief Executive Jambi Dodi Chandradilansir ANTARA, Tuesday, June 13.

A total of one helicopter patrolling aid from the BNPB arrived in the local area for the first phase on June 2, 2023, while the second and third stages in the form of water bomber helicopters arrived on June 6 and 8, 2023.

"Today or tomorrow (14/6) a patrol helicopter will come again so that four helicopters come to Jambi," he said.

The Jambi Provincial Government previously filed six helicopters to anticipate forest and land fires in the area to the central government, including two patrol helicopters and four water bomber helicopters.

However, the four helicopters cannot be used because they are still waiting for verification from the BNPB team.

"This is to minimize the occurrence of unwanted things when using helicopters and later use them after verification from BNPB can only be used," he said.

Currently, Jambi Province has entered the emergency alert status of forest and land fires. However, there have been no cases of forest and land fires in the area.
