NTB Police Coordinates Teacher's Salary Cut Case In West Lombok To Bareskrim

MATARAM - The West Nusa Tenggara Regional Police are coordinating the handling of the alleged case of cutting the salaries of teachers in West Lombok Regency with the Criminal Investigation Agency (Bareskrim) of the National Police Headquarters.

"This coordination is only internal. So, don't get the wrong perception," said Head of Public Relations of the NTB Police Kombes Arman Asmara Syarifuddin in Mataram as reported by ANTARA, Tuesday, June 13.

Regarding the purpose of the coordination, Arman admitted that he had not received any information from investigators. "What is clear is that the handling of this case is still ongoing," he said.

Arman explained that the role of the suspect in the investigation process has not been revealed. The handling is still in the process of examining witnesses.

"So the examination of witnesses is part of an effort to complete the needs of case files," he said.

The case of cutting the teacher's salary is allegedly carried out by unscrupulous officials at the West Lombok Education and Culture Office (Dikbud). The number of teachers suspected of being victims of cuts was 100 people. Each teacher's salary is deducted by IDR 500 thousand.

The police also investigated this issue because they saw that the action was not based on government regulations. There are allegations of cuts to meet the personal needs of these officials.

The existence of such indications of unlawful acts (PMH) is the basis for the NTB Regional Police to increase this case to the investigation stage which leads to alleged violations of Article 2 paragraph (1) and/or Article 3 of Law Number 31 of 1999 concerning Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption as amended by Law no. 20 of 2001.
