JAKARTA - Chairman of the National Awakening Party Muhaimin Iskandar (Cak Imin) admitted to consulting with Vice President Ma'ruf Amin regarding the 2024 General Election.

"Alhamdulillah, today has the opportunity to stay in touch as well as consult, asking for input, especially Kiai Ma'ruf Amin's input as an elder of PKB as also the Vice President, also as the former Chairman of the PKB Syuro Council," said Muhaimin Iskandar after a meeting with the Vice President, reported by ANTARA, Monday, May 15.

Cak Imin admitted that he was very happy to be given time to consult with the Vice President regarding the 2024 General Election. According to him, the Vice President asked PKB to be solid, strong and compact, and asked all PKB cadres to continue to fight for the struggle of Nahdlatul Ulama (NU).

"He also asked PKB in moving areas, synergizing with all the power of the community to win the 2024 election," he said.

Previously, Cak Imin had also met the ninth Vice President Hamzah Haz and the 10th and 12th Vice President Jusuf Kalla. Cak Imin admitted that his political safari was done to get input and advice. "Yes, for sure, the first one really appreciates the Vice President who has become Vice President, as well as who is still the Vice President. But I also ask for input and thank God I got input from the Vice President to continue working hard," he said.

Cak Imin said Vice President Ma'ruf Amin gave input that the PKB's move was appropriate, as a political force to move both to take roles in the government and coalitions.

Meanwhile, Vice President Masduki Baidlowi's spokesman said Cak Imin's arrival at the Vice President's residence was to stay in touch and be halalbihalal.

"The younger one comes to the older one. Cak Imin respects the Vice President as an influential and elder figure. So Cak Imin came to consult and discuss and ask for advice," said Masduki.

Masduki said Cak Imin shared his opportunities and obstacles in advancing as a candidate for Vice President, and asked for Ma'ruf Amin's prayer.

"The vice president answered yes yes (I want to pray). If the kiai is visited by the students, they are asked for prayers, yes (surely) yes," said Masduki.
