There Is An Increase In Billion Flows, Polda Metro Jaya: Everything Is Still Smooth

JAKARTA - The Directorate of Traffic (Ditlantas) of the Polda Metro Jaya revealed that there was an increase in vehicles entering the DKI Jakarta area and its surroundings during the flow of millennials (backstream) or back to Eid D+3 but traffic was still smooth.

"The pattern is still the same, there is an increase but Alhamdulillah, thanks to the cooperation of travelers so that we really control the flow of traffic from Central Java to Jaya (Jakarta Raya)," said Traffic Director of Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Pol Latif Usman during a review at the KM 10 Cikunir Security Post on Cikampek Toll Road, Tuesday.

According to observations from the Kalikangkung Toll Gate since Tuesday at 11.00-20.00 WIB, the average per hour of vehicles entering above 3,000 vehicles.

"So hopefully the movement will reach Jakarta, God willing, we can control it so that there will be no buildup at either the payment gate or the 'off ramp' (toll exit) in Jakarta," he said, quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, April 25.

The former Dirlantas Polda East Java has also prepared anticipation of vehicle density by implementing a counter-flow system (contraflow).

"For the 'contraflow' in us, we still survive up to Kilometer 47. We have prepared it at Kilometer 36 but it has not been used, to anticipate," he said.

Latif also added that if traffic conditions remain like this, there will be no traffic congestion.

"Yes, we hope that the term does not accumulate in one place, yes, if it moves like this again on April 24-28, God willing, the current situation will continue, we hope so, so there will be no spike," he said.

Latif said that the smooth flow of traffic also depends on travelers to be careful on the road. Do not let accidents that can hinder traffic flow.

"Therefore, it really depends on the travelers to be careful, if you are tired of resting, don't force it. Moreover, it stops in a place that is not in accordance with its designation," he ordered.
