CIREBON - Cirebon City Police, West Java, has implemented an open and close system for rest areas at kilometer (Km) 207 to anticipate congestion and urge travelers to stop in the area no more than 30 minutes. "We apply an open-close system at rest areas to anticipate congestion," said Cirebon City Police Traffic Unit Head AKP Triyono Raharja in Cirebon, West Java, Antara, Tuesday, April 18. He said the implementation of the open and close system was to ensure that the rest area could accommodate travelers and anticipate the queue of vehicles. If the open and close system is not implemented, continued Triyono, it is feared that vehicles will pile up at rest areas and could cause traffic jams. "Before exceeding the capacity of 100 percent, we will close it first," he added. Triyono added that at the resting place there are times that are indeed crowded by travelers, such as when they are about to be suhoor and enter the time of Zuhur and maghrib. Therefore, at these vulnerable hours, the police are always wary of so that there are no queues that spread to the toll road lane, so that the open and close system is applied. "There are indeed certain hours, such as when it will be suhoor, zuhur, and maghrib," he said. In addition to implementing an open and close system, the police also appealed to people who are resting so that they do not have more than 30 minutes in the rest area so that they can alternate with other travelers.

"Take advantage of the rest area as well as possible, don't exceed 30 minutes," said Triyono.
