JAKARTA - Commission D DPRD DKI will summon housing developer Melati Residence, Ciganjur Village, Jagakarsa District, South Jakarta to ask for information about the landslide incident some time ago.
Chairman of Commission D DPRD DKI Jakarta Ida Mahmuda said the meeting was scheduled for Monday, 19 October. Ida also invited the Citata Office, the DPMPTSP Service, the Mayor of South Jakarta Administration, and the Water Resources (SDA) Office.
Ida said the meeting aimed to find out the cause of the embankment landslide tragedy that killed residents from the village next to it.
"We are concerned about the casualties. Developers must also have concern, that's why we will see what form of concern they have from this incident," said Ida in his statement, Thursday, October 15.
Ida considered the landslide incident in Ciganjur should be a concern. This is because the incident not only killed local residents, but also damaged the residents' buildings which were buried by landslides from their homes.

Separately, Head of SDA DKI Jakarta, Juaini Yusuf, explained that the plaster made by the developer at Melati Residence Housing is considered dangerous in terms of construction.

At present, the SDA Office has installed dolkenes and covered them with tarpaulin so that the land is not exposed to rain which triggers further landslides. This is because Kali Anak Situ, which is under the construction, has become covered by collapsed sheet pile belonging to the developer.
"Now we are installing the dolke, because at the top it is still very vulnerable. If we do not maintain the unstable soil strength, it will be very dangerous for the workers below. The dolken is about 30 meters long and 20-25 meters high," said Juaini.
