Targeted To Be Completed By The End Of This Year, The Construction Of The Ameroro Dam In Southeast Sulawesi Package II Has Been 70 Percent

JAKARTA - PT Hutama Karya (Persero) (Hutama Karya) together with PT Adhi Karya (Persero) Tbk through operational cooperation (KSO) have completed the construction of the Ameroro Package II Dam, in Southeast Sulawesi Province more than 70 percent or faster than the target should be.

Executive Vice President (EVP) Corporate Secretary Hutama Karya Tjahjo Purnomo said that the Ameroro Dam is one of the National Strategic Projects (PSN) to support food security programs and water availability.

Furthermore, Tjahjo said the dam would be the second dam in Konawe Regency, Southeast Sulawesi. Construction of the dam began in 2020 for Package I and Package II carried out in 2021 with a total budget of IDR 1.6 trillion.

"The Ameroro Dam will have a capacity of 54.15 million m3 with an inundation area of 244.51 Ha which has the potential to add irrigation area services of 3.363 Ha," explained Tjahjo.

Tjahjo said that Hutama Karya was committed to completing the construction of the Ameroro Dam in a timely and quality manner.

"We are targeting the Ameroro Dam to be completed by the end of 2023. Overall progress is already faster than the predetermined master schedule. This is a separate achievement for HK," said Tjahjo.

In the construction of this project, Hutama Karya carried out preparation work, access and bridge road work, mechanical and electrical hydro work, construction work facilities and the implementation of the Construction Safety Management System (SMKK) by carrying the concept of green constructions.

Meanwhile, currently, the stage of completing the work is playing dam, spillway, facility building, landscape and clearing inundation areas.

"Supporting the concept of green constructions, in its work, Hutama Karya innovated using the hydroseeding method that mixes the seeds of nuts with fertilizers, adhesive materials and compost mixed in the agitator machine so that it can be used on the surface of the cliff," he said.

According to Tjahjo, this can reduce the use of cement in conventional protection and make the appearance of the cliff look greener and preserve the environment.

Furthermore, Tjahjo hopes that the completion of the Ameroro Dam construction can increase the volume of water storage so that irrigation water supply to agricultural land can be maintained, the availability of raw water.

"Also the availability of electricity is 1,365 KWH, reducing flooding and of course it can be an object of tourism for the surrounding community," he concluded.
