Defeated With 0-6 To Great Britain, Indonesian Men's Archery Team Has Been Eliminated In Tokyo Olympics Elimination Round
JAKARTA - The Indonesian men's team archery team stopped at the Tokyo Olympics after losing 6-0 to Great Britain in the round of 16 elimination at the Yumenoshima Final Field, Tokyo, Monday.
In three sets of matches, Riau Ega Agatha, Arif Dwi Pangestu, and Alviyanto Bagas Prastyadi scored 51, 52, and 51, while the Great Britain team which was reinforced by Tom Hall, Patrick Huston, and James Woodgate scored 55, 53, and 55.
Riau Ega admitted that his team was late in adapting to the high wind conditions in the arena.
“We were too late to adjust to this field. So we lost points first. England could get 10 points quickly, and we were late. The opponent also played better, so it was a bit difficult to catch up with their points", said Ega after the match, in a KOI press release reported by Antara, Monday.

This was agreed by Permadi's archery trainer Sandra Wibawa. According to him, his team still couldn't handle the gusts of wind in Yumenoshima, especially since the wind was blowing harder than the previous days.
“We rarely encounter wind conditions like this in Jakarta. But so far, friends have tried to present the best. This makes it difficult for the team because they are not ready for strong winds", said Permadi.
Despite losing, the chance to win a medal at the Tokyo Olympics is still open to the Indonesian archery team in two other events, namely the individual women's and the men's.
