Hundreds Of Vehicles Turned Around In Karawang Ahead Of The 2021 Eid Al-Adha Holiday

JAKARTA - The Karawang Regency Police turned hundreds of motorbikes and private cars at the Karawang-Bekasi border point into the Eid al-Adha holiday.

The local police chief, Grand Commissioner Adjutant Rama Samtama Putra, said that entering the Eid al-Adha holiday, his party maximized blocking activities at the entry point for the Karawang area.

"This (blockage) has been running during the Emergency PPKM. However, today we are optimizing it specifically to anticipate the occurrence of anticipating the Eid homecoming wave," said the police chief as quoted by Antara, Monday, July 19.

According to him, vehicles passing through the blocking post will be inspected and checked. Passing motorists must meet the conditions specified in the Emergency PPKM, at least they can show a vaccine certificate and a negative swab test result.

"On this Sunday, quite a lot of vehicles have turned around, it shows that there are still many motorists who want to cross to the East dominated by plate B, perhaps to commemorate Eid al-Adha in their hometown," he said.

Among the isolation points that are maximized at the moment before Eid is at the Tanjungpura, Pabayuran, and Rengasdengklok blocking points. The three points are the Karawang-Bekasi border point.

In this blocking, not a few motorists had arguments with officers so they could continue their journey. However, unable to show the specified letters and documents, their vehicle was turned around.

Meanwhile, news got out a few days ago that there was an intrusion of a blockage point in the urban Karawang area by a luxury car driver. Confirmed about the incident, Karawang police chief did not respond.

In the video circulating, the owner of the luxury car not only grabbed the sealing point, but also got out of his car to get rid of some of the bulkhead post equipment.

Even the owner of the large luxury vehicle seemed to be blocking the officers when they were going to defend the isolation point, until the officer blocked the speed of his vehicle by standing in front of the vehicle.
