Turning The Ministry Of Defense Into A COVID-19 Emergency Hospital, Prabowo's Step Is Praised By The DPR
JAKARTA - Member of the House of Representatives Commission I Muhammad Farhan appreciated Defense Minister Prabowo Subianto's move to convert the Ministry of Defense (Kemhan) facilities into an emergency COVID-19 hospital. As the number of daily cases of Corona virus transmission continues to break record highs.
"It's not easy for the whole nation, so the utilization of TNI health facilities and personnel will make a big contribution to handling cases that have soared so much," said Farhan, Friday, July 15.
The Ministry of Defense facilities that have been converted are the Center for Defense Management Education and Training (Pusdiklat Jemenhan) and the Language Education and Training Center in Pondok Labu, South Jakarta.
The emergency hospital from the Ministry of Defense facility is for COVID-19 patients who are not accommodated at the dr. Suyoto Bintaro, South Jakarta. Meanwhile, the National Defense Education and Training Center at Rumpin Bogor and a stand-by-force system at IPSC Sentul Bogor are also being prepared as COVID-19 Emergency Hospitals.
Farhan assessed that the contribution of ministries or state institutions including the Ministry of Defense was very necessary to overcome the COVID-19 pandemic. Besides that, according to him, the community must also carry out the emergency PPKM rules with awareness to tackle the COVID-19 pandemic together.
"We are concerned because the number of positive Covid cases continues to increase even though Emergency PPKM has been implemented in Java and Bali since last July 3," he said.
The NasDem Party politician also advised the government to immediately evaluate and analyze cases with accurate data. Because, he said, the family cluster is now the biggest contributor to positive cases of COVID-19 in Indonesia.
Especially for the Greater Jakarta area, said Farhan, a special team (ad hoc) needs to be formed to handle the spread of COVID-19. Then, the Regional Governments of DKI Jakarta, West Java, and Benten are required to provide a place of self-isolation (isoman) by utilizing unused buildings if the family cluster is suspected to be a problem in itself.
He added, because the number of positive cases of COVID-19 in DKI Jakarta is the highest, the capital city needs special attention.
"It is necessary to strictly monitor the implementation of Emergency PPKM, where is the source of the surge in positive cases? It's time for the central government to dissect objectively area by region where Covid cases in the area are still increasing," concluded Farhan.
