Bangka Belitung Governor Erzaldi Rosman Djohan Grieving, 3 Health Workers Died While Handling COVID-19 Patients

JAKARTA - The Governor of the Bangka Belitung Islands, Erzaldi Rosman Djohan, expressed his deepest condolences for the death of three health workers while treating COVID-19 patients.

"We pray that the deceased and the deceased will be accepted in the best place by Allah SWT and the bereaved families will be given fortitude," said Erzaldi Rosman Djohan when inspecting the health facilities of the Soekarno Hospital, Babel Islands Province in Bangka, as reported by Antara, Wednesday, July 14.

He said the three health workers died, namely two health workers at the Kelapa Health Center in West Bangka Regency and one doctor at the Belitung Hospital.

"I really appreciate these health workers who have worked day and night serving the community," he said.

According to him, with the death of this health worker, it is hoped that the community will be more alert, by continuing to maintain health protocols.

Promotive and outreach steps on how to live a healthy life and discipline to comply with health protocols can run across all levels of society.

"I am sure that if the community is obedient and disciplined in carrying out the procedures, it can certainly suppress the spread of COVID-19," he said.

The spokesperson for the COVID-19 Task Force for the Babel Islands Province Andi Budi Prayitno said the compliance rate for wearing masks was 67.7 percent from the 89.33 percent national average (a slight increase from the previous week).

"Nationally, the compliance rate for using the masks of the Babylonians is the 3rd lowest in Indonesia, with the lowest compliance rate being in Pangkalpinang City with 46.88 percent," he said.

He said the rate of compliance with social distancing and avoiding crowds of Babylonians was 60.9 percent from the national average of 87.68 percent (a slight increase from the previous week), which nationally was the 4th lowest in Indonesia.

"The lowest compliance rate for social distancing and avoiding crowds is also in Pangkalpinang City with 50 percent," he said.
