Meeting Talented Singers, Dennis Talakua Gagas Project Music Sweet Holic

JAKARTA - Dennis Talakua started a new music project that is his focus now. With experience as a music arranger, producer, session player to songwriter, he is ready to give more in front of the screen.

Dennis has been involved in a number of well-known singers such as Glenn Fredly, Andre Hehanusa, Marion Jola, Salma Salsabilla, Nowela, Regina, Dirly and several others. Dennis now initiated Sweet Holic, the project he made with the singer from Kupang, Imanuel.

"This is a project band but the format is both. In mindset I am now collecting one-on-one personnel such as guitarists, bassists, drummers, it is a bit difficult. And I want to make some band projects with me more hire vocalists, because I myself like to create songs but I don't sing myself. The point is, all my music is made and will be sung by one vocalist, explained Dennis in a written broadcast received by VOI, December 13.

The song titled 'Continuate' was chosen as the main single of this project. A Pop genre song created by Dennis with Imanuel. This song comes with a chill and sweet Pop music vibes in the ear.

"It's still related to romance. About relationships that are still in the approach stage. He wants to invite someone he likes to stop by because someone is too special for him. So this song is like an invitation to want to be my lover," he explained.

The process of making this Stopping song seems to have been going quite a long way. The song that Dennis has composed from last year was hampered by the distance conditions of Imanuel who lives in Kupang and Dennis in Jakarta.

At first, Lala and I (Marion Jola) were playing to Lala's village in Kupang. Then I met the music community there and met Imanuel. Then we jamming, I thought, "Wow, this is a really fun voice". It turns out that he is an indie band vocalist who has released a single called Noctrunes. Running with each other's busy schedule, a year later I met the melody for this song and the vocal character who best fit this song is Imanuel," said Dennis.

Sweet Holic puts forward the choice of music with a honest background aka using organic or natural music institutes, compared to digital music. Taking an independent path, Dennis feels more free to work, without restrictions but still has his own musical identity in presenting the music they love for the audience to enjoy.

"Here I present Pop vibes in the 90-2000s because I think in today's era there are very few musicians or bands who create works using organic instruments. Even here there are song parts with guitar solos that are rarely used. I think now people have started to compose songs with chords, sequences and simple lyrics. The fundamental things in crude music in my opinion are gone. That's why in Sweet Holic I'm trying to work honestly. Listen to the music I want to listen to, make the song I want and play the music I like. I'm sure music listeners can feel the authentic value , said Dennis.

Dennis himself has prepared 3 songs that are ready to be released for this project. As the name implies, Sweet Holic hopes to provide original works that will be liked by many people.

I want to return the moments of free music, which are honest and have a strong memory through its instruments, lyrics and notations. Hopefully this song can be a cure for your longing for music in that era," concluded Dennis Talakua.
