Realizing Indonesia Gold 2045, Moeldoko Asks Campus To Contribute To Printing Mumpuni HR

JAKARTA - Presidential Chief of Staff, (KSP) Moeldoko asked for higher education commitments in preparing Indonesian Human Resources (HR) in facing global challenges in the world of employment. This was said by Moeldoko when giving a public lecture at the National Development University Veteran Jakarta on Thursday 13 March. He assessed that currently, the Government has made appropriate efforts in encouraging the optimization of human resources. First, with the support of regulations that cover the eternal fund in the field of education, revitalization of education and vocalization as well as the preparation of the Presidential Decree on Management of Indonesia Talenta. Second, with the support of a budget such as Smart Indonesia Card, the Endowment Fund Culture and the Eternal Education Fund managed by LPDP. "Hopefully we can achieve Indonesia Gold 2045 with revenue per capita of 30,000 USD per year. Don't let us fall into the middle income trap," said Moeldoko Assigning in terms of the productivity situation of Indonesian HR, continued Moeldoko, there is a close connection between workforce productivity and improving the quality of human resources from the education sector. Currently, the unemployment rate in Indonesia based on the Diploma and Bachelor education level is still in the high category, namely 5.59%. Therefore, the 2013-2015 TNI Commander said that universities need to be committed to answer the challenge of change. He also hopes that students will start to see potential at home and be able to compete at the global level.

"Towards Indonesia Gold, individual capabilities must be finalized, one of which is through learning in universities," said Moeldoko. "Universities must always innovate, and teach leadership or leadership to students as capital, be it individuals or organizations," he added.

Through simplification of the bureaucracy, said Moeldoko, the Government sees the entry of investment both domestically and abroad as the first step in creating jobs for the Indonesian people. For this reason, improving the skills and competence of Indonesian students is a must. I don't agree if you say our workforce is dominated by foreigners, it's already regulated. We focus on improving the skills and competencies of the nation's children," he concluded.
