Toyota Gazoo Racing Prepares Sport Car, GR Version Prius?
JAKARTA - Toyota's top performance division, Toyota Gazoo Racing, hints at launching a high-performance car based on the Prius model.
It said the car would be equipped with technology that had been developed based on the experience of Toyota Gazoo Racing in sportscars, especially the iconic endurance race 24 Hours Le Mans.
Reporting from Autocar, Saturday 27 May, scattered teaser images hint at designs from the Prius GR. It can be seen that the lower bumper section is slightly different from the Prius in general.
It was also seen that four LED fog lights were lit at the bottom with an aggressive front splitter, indicating that the car would look more sporty as well as a racing car.
Despite providing a teaser about the model, Toyota has not yet informed about the specifications of the Prius. However, it is possible that the engine will be based on a 2.0 liter hybrid plug-in system measuring 218 dk.

The concept of this car will later be introduced on the weekend of the 100th race of 24 Hours Le Mans which will take place from June 10-11.
It is not yet known whether the car will be used as a production version, depending on the public's response to this car later.
Previously, Toyota CEO, Koji Sato, who holds companies like Toyota and Lexus, recently signaled that Gazoo Racing division would produce more sports cars going forward.
