Profits Of Selling Biosolar Fuel IDR 20 Thousand Per Jerry Can, 51-Year-Old Man In Bintan Kepri Detained
RIAU - Bintan Police, Riau Islands (Kepri), arrested a person who misappropriated subsidized fuel oil (BBM) with the initials T (51).
Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Bintan Police, AKP Marganda Pandapotan, said that the perpetrator's mode was to buy biosolar fuel from someone at a price of Rp. 300 thousand per jerry can, then resold at a higher price of Rp. 320 thousand per jerry can.
"The perpetrators made a profit of Rp. 20,000 per jerry can," he said, in Bintan, Friday, May 26, which was confiscated by Antara.
Kasat said the perpetrator was arrested at Pelangtar Kelong Barek Motor, East Bintan District, Bintan Regency, Wednesday, May 24 evening. The perpetrator was caught red-handed while trying to sell subsidized fuel to local fishermen.
The perpetrator has been detained at the Bintan Police Headquarters to undergo further legal proceedings. The perpetrator admitted that he had been carrying out these illegal activities since January 2023.
"We are still developing this case by looking for other actors and those involved in this action will be dealt with firmly in accordance with applicable law," he explained.
He conveyed that from the hands of the perpetrators, the police secured evidence in the form of a red Isuzu Panther car with the police number BP 1924 YB. The car was used by the perpetrators to transport jerry cans containing biosolar fuel sold to fishermen.
Then, nine 35 liter jerry cans containing diesel oil, four 220 liters of plastic drums filled with diesel fuel as much as 385 liters.
"The perpetrators violated Article 55 of the Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 22 of 2001 concerning Oil and Gas as amended in the Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 11 of 2020 concerning Job Creation with a threat of 6 years in prison and a maximum fine of Rp. 60 billion," he said.

He appealed to entrepreneurs and the public not to ever carry out subsidized fuel abuse activities because it is very detrimental to the state and society.
He asked people who are aware of the activity of misuse of subsidized fuel in the Bintan Regency area to immediately report to the Bintan Police for strict action.
"We are committed to realizing a safe and conducive Bintan, one of which is from the activity of misappropriation of subsidized fuel," he said.
