NasDem PAW DPRメンバー アリ・エガニがKPKの容疑者

PALANGKA RAYA - The Central Executive Board (DPP) of the NasDem Party issued an interim replacement letter (PAW) for one of its cadres, a member of the DPR Ary Egahni Ben Bahat due to a case of alleged corruption in Central Kalimantan (Kalteng). Ary Egahni is a suspect with her husband at the KPK.

Deputy Secretary General of the NasDem Party DPP Hermawi Taslim said in a written statement that the PAW was issued after the NasDem Party DPP Decree Number: 261-Kpts/DPP-NasDem/V/2023 concerning the interim replacement of Ary Egahni's sister as a member of the Indonesian House of Representatives and appointed Ujang Iskandar as PAW in the remaining period of 2019-2024.

"The determination of Ujang Iskandar as the DPR PAW is in accordance with the provisions of the law, namely, the most votes were obtained in the official report of the General Election Commission of the Republic of Indonesia (KPU RI)," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, May 8.

He said the decision was taken based on the facts of integrity and a statement signed by Ary Egahni who agreed to resign voluntarily if he was involved in a criminal act of corruption when registering as a candidate for DPR member from the NasDem Party in the 2019 General Election (Pemilu).

Hermawi hopes that the PAW administration process can take place quickly so that Ujang Iskandar can immediately strengthen the NasDem faction in the DPR and carry out his duties as representatives of the people of Central Kalimantan.

"Hopefully the PAW inauguration which we propose will be carried out well and run smoothly," he said.

The existence of PAW was welcomed by Ujang Iskandar. He stated that he was ready to carry out the mandate given by the NasDem DPP and would work optimally, to carry out his duties and functions as a member of the DPR in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.

"I would like to express my infinite gratitude to the General Chairperson of the NasDem Party DPP Mr. Surya Paloh through the Deputy Secretary General of the NasDem Party DPP Hermawi Taslim and all ranks of the NasDem Party DPP, as well as the Chairman of the Central Kalimantan NasDem Party DPW Faridawaty Darland Atjeh who processed and played an active role in this PAW, so that the DPP decision letter was issued," he said.

Ujang hopes that the next process, both at the KPU and DPR, can run smoothly, so that the inauguration can be scheduled soon because the remaining term of office for the 2019-2024 period is only approximately 1.5 years remaining.

"I hope to make a positive contribution to the development of the nation and state, especially the electoral district of Central Kalimantan in the remainder of this term of office," he said.

A member of the House of Representatives from the NasDem Party, Ary Egahni, was caught in a case of alleged corruption which was handled by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) together with her husband, who is the Regent of Kapuas Regency, Ben Brahim S. Bahat and has been named a suspect.

Now the two suspects are also detained by KPK investigators and the investigation continues until the files are completed and are immediately tried at trial.
