ラブアンバホでのASEAN首脳会議は、インドネシアのデジタルトランスフォーメーションのショーケースと見なされています

JAKARTA - Minister of Communication and Information Johnny G Plate assessed that the holding of the 42nd ASEAN Summit was a storefront for Indonesia's digital transformation.

He said the activity would provide a direct experience related to national digital transformation to ASEAN leaders who attended.

Even though Labuan Bajo is a new area developed by Mr. President Joko Widodo, although it is new, this was chosen to show it is included in the international storefront. This shows that Indonesia can," said the Minister of Communication and Information as reported by ANTARA, Thursday, May 4.

This was conveyed at the Network Operation Center office of PT. Telkom Indonesia, Labuan Bajo, West Manggarai, East Nusa Tenggara, Wednesday (3/5).

According to the Minister of Communication and Information, together with PT Telkom Indonesia, his party will show national digital performance. Starting from the construction of a fiber optic cable network, backbone, Telkom Sat satellite, and base transceiver station (BTS).

"Both for internet access and for backup, once again this is showcase, the success of development that we are doing in the telecommunications and digital sectors," he said.

Johnny explained that the existence of digital infrastructure will be an example of Indonesia's readiness to support the migration of community activities to the digital space.

"This includes utilizing digital space for the benefit of the community in general. Especially in the interests of the Indonesian economy or infrastructure preparation in the support of the 42nd ASEAN Summit," he said.

In particular, Johnny emphasized that the existence of digital infrastructure will be able to support the dissemination of information regarding the 42nd ASEAN Summit.

"We don't just build digital downstream, applications or platforms, but all of them start from upstream infrastructure. Transmission from the results of these hearings can quickly reach the community if the digital infrastructure is ready," he said.
