Malaysian Tourists Dominate Tourist Visits To South Sulawesi
MAKASSAR - Foreign tourists (tourists) from Malaysia dominated tourist visits to South Sulawesi Province (Sulsel) in March.
"In March 2023, there were 453 Malaysian tourists who came to South Sulawesi, followed by Singapore 79 foreign tourists and Germany 33 people, besides that there are still from other countries on the Americas and Europe," said Head of BPS Sulsel Aryanto in Makassar as reported by ANTARA Tuesday, May 2.
The rate of foreign tourist visits to South Sulawesi in March 2023 was 943 people, a decrease of 36.62 percent compared to the previous month which reached 1,090 foreign tourists.
"If we look at the data on foreign tourist visits in March 2023, there were 943 and in the previous month 1,090 visits. The percentage decreased by 36.63 percent," he said.
Aryanto said that the increasing number of foreign tourist visits to Indonesia, especially South Sulawesi, would encourage tourism actors and the creative economy.
He stated that along with the increasing number of foreign and domestic tourist visits, efforts to recover the economy by the government would be achieved.

Meanwhile, the Room Occupancy Rate (TPK) of star-classified hotels in South Sulawesi in March 2023 decreased by 1.76 percent when compared to the TPK in February 2023, from 48.88 percent to 47.12 percent.
Meanwhile, the average length of stay for foreign and domestic guests at star-classified hotels in South Sulawesi during March 2023 was 1.57 days and 1.50 days, respectively.
