Ora Lightning Cat, Hyundai Ioniq 6 Rival Topal In England
JAKARTA - An automotive company from China, Great Wall Motor under the EV brand, Ora introduced a second model in the form of a hatchback that will plunge into the British market.
The car is called the Ora Lightning Cat. The model will enliven the electric car market in the UK after previously being sold at home, followed by InsideEV, Friday, April 28, 2023.
However, it is possible that this electric hatchback will get a different name for the British market. The manufacturer says that the Lightning Ora has high quality, technology, and high-end specifications.
"The introduction of our next premium electric vehicle in the UK is a very important moment for brands. It demonstrates the high-level commitment and investment of GWM ORA to establish itself as a leader in various segments across the UK," said Toby Marshall, Managing Director of GWM ORA UK.
The Lightning Cat Ora has the same battery specifications as its model in China, which has a capacity of 83 kWh which can cover a distance of more than 482 km according to the WLTP.
Two variants of the electric hatchback are offered, namely two- and all-wheel drive, which can produce 395 dk and 680 Nm torque. Lightning Cat can accelerate from 0-100 km/hour within 4.4 seconds.
In a sense, Lightning Cat can go more impressively when compared to Hyundai Ioniq 6 which only produces 320 dk, and has a battery capacity of 77.4 kWh. Although, the distance traveled by Ioniq 6 is more promising with 610 km in one charge.
Because the car is a premium model, manufacturers offer high-end features such as large panoramic glass roofs, synthetic leather seat, and multicolor ambient lighting on the interior.
