Trump: I Won The War Against Climate Change Hoax Bill Gates!
JAKARTA - President of the United States (US) Donald Trump has firmly stated a hoax regarding the words of philanthropic billionaire Bill Gates said global warming or global warming will not end civilization.
According to Trump, Gates has now admitted his words were wrong. Trump also announced victory over what he considered Bill Gates' "hoax of climate change".
"I (KITA!) have just won the War Against the Climate Change Hoax. Bill Gates has finally admitted that he is completely wrong on this issue," Trump said on his Truth Social platform, Wednesday local time, quoted by AFP.
"It takes courage to do it, and for that we are all grateful," he continued.
Bill Gates, co-founder of Microsoft, said in a long memo this week that climate change "will not lead to the destruction of mankind." Gates only sees it as a major change.
The 70-year-old added that although climate change will have "serious" consequences, "humans can adapt and live in most areas of the earth for the foreseeable future."
Gates then highlighted how to deal with illness and poverty in the world which he judged would help prepare the poorest people on earth to face global warming.
However, Gates admits his words will cause a lot of criticism and are considered hypocritical given his significant carbon footprint. In the memo, Gates concluded it was "a cunning way to argue that we shouldn't take climate change seriously."
Trump has often been skeptical of environmental issues and denounced climate change as "the biggest fraud ever", including in a speech at the UN General Assembly in September 2025.
The Republican has also lifted environmentally friendly policies since returning to power in charge of the US in January 2025.
On the one hand, during the 2024 US Presidential Election campaign, Trump had succeeded and received hundreds of millions of dollars from donations from large oil companies.
