NLRB: Apple Doesn't Give Allowance Rights To Wrinkled Workers

JAKARTA The National Labor Relations Council (NLRB) officially sided with retail workers Apple in Towson, Maryland. On Tuesday, November 21, NLRB issued Complaints.

This letter to Apple claims that the company has refused to provide allowances to employees in Towson. Apple deliberately did this because workers in Towson joined the union.

Last year, Apple stores in Towson joined the International Association of Machine Experts and Intermediate Workers (IAM). NLRB feels that Apple does not provide benefits to these workers so that other employees do not participate in the association.

In fact, the allowance, which was announced in October last year, brings many benefits to workers at Apple. This allowance contains new health care options, free Coursera subscriptions, and prepaid lectures at several universities.

When workers in Towson realized they were excluded from the allowance, they wrote a letter to Apple CEO Tim Cook and said they would complain about it to NLRB.

Luckily, the disappointment and complaints of these workers were heard by the NLRB. Currently, NLRB will accompany workers in Towson in dealing with labor practices that are considered unfair.

The trial related to allegations of unfair labor practices will be conducted before the NLRB Administrative Law Judge. From The Verge report, this trial will be held on February 20 next year.
