Microsoft is preparing to bring Amazon.com as a customer for its 365 cloud productivity tool in a deal worth more than 1 billion DOLLARs (Rp 15.7 trillion). This was reported by Insider news website on Tuesday, October 17 citing internal documents and someone familiar with the matter.

According to the report, the e-commerce giant has committed to contracting the amount for more than five years and to secure more than one million Microsoft 365 licenses.

Microsoft, whose shares rose nearly 1% in advanced trading after the report, declined to comment. Amazon also did not respond to a Reuters request for comment.

Amazon is expected to start installing the new system in early November, the report said, adding that the company is currently using a local version of Microsoft's Office product.

With the Microsoft 365 license, it is estimated that Amazon.com will find it easier to market its cloud business in various sectors in the world.
