JAKARTA - Commemorating the 76th Bhakti Pos and Telecommunications Day, Huawei Indonesia together with the Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB) and Telkom University, inaugurated two joint laboratories (Joint Lab).
Ratified at the head office of PT Pos Indonesia (Persero) in Bandung, West Java, the ITB-Huawei xG Research Center laboratory will focus on implementing 5G technology for the vertical industry.
Meanwhile, Tel-U-Huawei Beyond 5.5G will be a research and development center (R&D) for researchers to produce the latest innovations of world-class technology.
"In the midst of the era of information disruption and advances in digital technology, our collective work (important) in realizing Indonesia's digital transformation acceleration agenda," said Budi Arie Setiadi, Minister of Communications and Information Technology in an official broadcast, quoted on Sunday, October 1.
According to him, the construction of this joint lab is not only intended so that Indonesia's postal and telecommunications sectors can be more advanced, but also to encourage real understanding by all levels of Indonesian society without exception.
Meanwhile, Rina Pudji Astuti, Deputy Chancellor of Telkom University, said that this laboratory is an initiative of ICT industry players and universities to support the acceleration of digital transformation that is being intensified by the government.
"Through this Joint Lab, qualified Indonesian Maju people, digital capable, and innovative thinking skills so as to help Indonesia play a bigger role on the global technology stage," concluded Rina.
