JAKARTA - OpenAI has just announced that ChatGPT can now explore the internet to provide up-to-date and authoritative information, complete with a direct link to the source.

The feature is called Browse with Bing, currently only open to those with Plus Enterprise subscriptions, but the company says it will launch it soon to all users.

"Travel is available to Plus and Company users at this time, and we will soon expand it to all users," the company wrote in a post on platform X on Thursday, September 28.

OpenAI has previously tested a feature that allows users to access the latest information via Bing in the premium ChatGPT Plus offer. However, it is then disabled due to concerns that it could allow users to skip paywall.

If ChatGPT Plus subscribers and ChatGPT Enterprise users want to use this feature, they can see in the drop-down menu below GPT-4 voters at the top of the app.

"Exploration is very useful for tasks that require up-to-date information, such as helping you do technical research, trying to choose a bicycle, or planning a vacation," the company added.

Previously, OpenAI also launched a new capability that allows users to be able to have voice conversations with ChatGPT on Android and iOS, as well as enter images into it on all platforms.

By inserting an image, like a famous place, ChatGPT will later give you advice on what's interesting about the place.
