Ge Health announced its plans to develop an ultrasonicographic scanning tool (USG) assisted by artificial intelligence (AI) which is so easy to use that health service providers will be able to operate it even without special training.
Research and development of the tool will be funded by a US$44 million (Rp675.3 billion) grant from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. The foundation has been investing in the spread of new technology in low-buy areas to address gaps in access to health.
GE says this artificial intelligence scanning technology has been designed to be distributed to low- and middle-income countries where health care provider services may be limited. This ultrasound tool will be more effective in providing a clear reading of lung and ultrasound scanning in maternal and fetal care as well as pediatric lung health.
