JAKARTA - Apple reportedly spent money to develop its Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology, which will be used in the creation of conversation chatbot features for Siri.
According to a The Information report, Apple has spent millions of dollars per day from its computing budget with a focus on AI conversations.
Currently, many teams are focused on AI and there are 16-member units called the Basic Model, specifically for AI conversations.
The unit is led by Apple's AI chief John Giannandrea who came from Google to overhaul Siri, the company's virtual assistant.
The Cupertino giant, United States (US), plans to give Siri the ability to automate complex tasks, such as turning a series of photos into GIFs.
"This new capability is related to Apple's shortcut app, which allows users to manually program a series of actions using different applications and is expected to be released in conjunction with a new version of the iPhone operating system next year," said The Information, compiled from Mashable, Thursday, September 5.

Others, Apple is also claimed to be working on multimodal AI products involving making text-to-images and vice versa, as well as software to produce 3D scenes.
In July, rumors emerged from Bloomberg journalist Mark Gurman who said the company was working on his big language model (LLM) Apple GPT and several employees had access to an internal chatbot dubbed Ajax.
The LM may be used for the support of Apple Care customers. The company believes Ajax is better than OpenAI's ChatGPT-3.5.
