JAKARTA - Football legend Cristiano Ronaldo underwent a lie detection test to answer various questions about football and teased his plan to release more collections of nonfungible tokens (NFT) in the future.

The video of the lie detection test was carried out when the soccer star released his second NFT collection in collaboration with the Binance crypto exchange. The collection was released in July to celebrate the achievements of athletes as the highest goalscorers in sports history.

The video allows football fans to see Ronaldo undergo a lie detection test answering questions about football with a yes or no answer, such as "Will Portugal win the World Cup?" and "Are you still going to play at the highest level in your 40s?"

When asked if he had an NFT, the athlete replied "yes," and a lie detection test confirmed that he was telling the truth. The result was the same when Ronaldo was asked if he had plans to release more NFTs in the future.

Ronaldo released his first NFT collection with Binance in 2022 after signing a multi-year partnership with the exchange. This collaboration aims to introduce Web3 to football fans around the world through various NFT campaigns.

According to the announcement, the NFT released by Ronaldo will allow fans to have the opportunity to interact exclusively with the football superstar.

Meanwhile, Brazilian football star Ronaldinho Ga totalcho is currently involved in an investigation into crypto fraud in Brazil. On August 27, local media reported that the footballer was not present before Congress in an investigation into a pyramid scheme allegedly linked to one of its companies.

On August 31, Ronaldinho finally appeared before the investigation committee, denying his role in a scheme that promises a daily return of 2% in crypto form. A lawsuit demanding 61 million US dollars (Rp926 billion) in compensation was filed against the company, which Ronaldinho denies as his partner. According to the athlete, the company used its image without permission and claimed that it was also a victim of the scheme.
