Binance CEO Optimistic In The Future Of Uniswap, Here's Why!

JAKARTA - Binance CEO Changpeng Zhao has expressed his optimistic view regarding decentralized finance or commonly called DeFi (Decentralized Finance). Zhao said this shortly after the court issued a favorable verdict in Uniswap's lawsuit, a decentralized crypto exchange (DEX).

Some time ago, Judge Total Police Failla from the Southern District of New York rejected a lawsuit that weighed on Uniswap (UNI). In this case, Uniswap is required to take responsibility for the financial losses of investors suspected of trading with a "token scam" at the Uniswap DEX.

In a question and answer session on social media platform X, Changpeng Zhao, or better known as CZ, considered Judge Failla's decision to be positive news for DeFi. He welcomed the decision and observed that DeFi is an important part of the future financial system.

Interestingly, Uniswap, although previously lost to Coinbase in terms of trading volume, this time Uniswap managed to surpass Coinbase in the first quarter of 2023, Bitwise reported.

At the same time, Zhao sees the growth in Uniswap's trading volume as a positive impact on the DeFi ecosystem. He even expressed his belief about DeFi's subsequent upward trend, DeFi could become bigger than centralized finance (CeFi).

"The DeFi volume currently ranges from 5% to 10% of the CeFi volume, not small numbers. Uniswap, over the past two quarters, managed to surpass Coinbase's trading volume, so that on the next upward trend, DeFi could become bigger than CeFi. I see this as a very positive development. The more decentralized the industry is, the better," said CZ.

CZ's optimistic view of DeFi reflects a huge boost to the decentralized financial ecosystem that continues to grow. With innovations continuing to emerge and more DeFi projects attracting investors, DeFi's future looks even brighter.
