WhatsApp Finally Launches for Mac Users, Bring This Feature!

JAKARTA - After releasing the latest version for the Windows desktop earlier this year, WhatsApp is now bringing a native Mac application that will offer a similar experience.

Through the company's blog post, WhatsApp said it had improved the calling feature for Mac users.

"With the new WhatsApp application for Mac, you can now make group calls from your Mac for the first time, connecting up to eight people via video call and up to 32 people via audio call," WhatsApp said, quoted Wednesday, August 30.

Now, users can join group calls once they have started, view call history and choose to receive incoming call notifications even when the app is closed.

WhatsApp says it has redesigned its app to make it easier for users to use, and to help them get more work done quickly.

"This app was redesigned to be familiar to Mac users, helping you get more done done faster when using WhatsApp on a big screen," said WhatsApp.

Users can also share files by dragging and dropping into chats, and can view more of their chat history.

In addition, WhatsApp emphasized that it will always implement security so that all types of user messages and calls remain private across all devices, and can only be accessed by the intended contact.

"Like on any device, WhatsApp for Mac keeps your messages and calls private across devices with end-to-end encryption," explains WhatsApp.

Those, Mac users who want to use the application can download it directly from the WhatsApp website. The company also says it will be available on the Mac App Store soon.
