JAKARTA  - Head of Research at CoinShares, James Butterfill, recently revealed that investors with large capitals are continuously making large investments in the XRP cryptocurrency.

In an interview published on the Wolf of All Streets podcast, Butterfill highlights the interesting fact that institutions continue to pour heavy investment into XRP throughout the year.

XRP, which is currently the fifth largest cryptocurrency by market cap, has been the focus of attention since the United States Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) filed a lawsuit against it in November 2020. The lawsuit claims that Ripple Labs, the company behind XRP, has sold XRP as a unregistered securities.

After a lengthy trial process, the court finally ruled in favor of Ripple in several aspects against the SEC's lawsuits earlier this year. The court held that the sale of XRP on the open market by Ripple could not be considered an offering of securities, which contradicted the SEC's opinion.

Along with this dynamic, the price of XRP has been subject to fluctuations. Nonetheless, Butterfill steadfastly claims that institutional investors have continued to accumulate XRP throughout the year.

"From my perspective, because we've seen a variety of different verdicts, investors have consistently added to their positions in XRP on a weekly basis. Except for a few weeks with outflows, every week during this year, we've seen inflows into XRP. This is definitely a signal positive for XRP."

Butterfill highlighted that regulatory clarity plays an important role in the investment decisions of market participants. "Across all of our surveys, regulatory issues are the main concern for crypto investors. Clarity in this regard is something they are most concerned about. Until there is certainty about this, we can expect investors to remain skeptical and cautious. ."
