Meta Prepares Web Search And Access Features For Threads In Coming Weeks

JAKARTA - Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced through a new tweet that web search and access features will be coming soon for Threads.net, a popular Twitter alternative developed by Meta.

"The web search and access feature will come in the coming weeks," Zuckerberg tweeted, expressing his joy at the speed of sending his development team.

Meta is taking risks by launching a simple high-speed Twitter alternative, while Twitter continues to experience problems. This move appears to have worked, with Threads reaching 100 million registrations faster than any consumer software product in history.

However, more than half of these users did not last, according to a Reuters report. While this may be expected for any software product, especially since social media apps are not as completely finished as Threads, it appears that Meta is trying to quickly develop additional features.

Just last week Threads launched the "Following feed" feature, so users don't just rely on corporate algorithms to prioritize tweets from the people they want to read.

One of the most awaited features is the web version for the desktop. Comments from Adam Mosseri, head of Threads and Instagram, filled with an explanation that "we're working on it!" In this case, users are also waiting for the desktop version to be able to access Threads more easily, especially from work computers or PCs.

If Threads continues to grow, a search function that can search for tweet content (not just individual user profiles) will be very useful, especially for journalists. Many reports and information are found through the Twitter search feature, so this feature will be very helpful in finding stories or verifying information.
