The Importance Of Cloud Computing, Database And Big Data Is No Less Important For AI Development

JAKARTA - In the midst of the onslaught of very fast Generative AI technology today, companies are forced to adapt to create interesting content with machines, thus functioning as a powerful tool for businesses to achieve their goals.

When it comes to Generative AI, surely we will be brought to discussion about the Large Language Model (LLM), as a very large model of in-depth learning and data collection to be understood, summarized so that it can generate or produce new content.

However, LLM is not the only important component in the development of Generative AI. According to the President of Database Products Business, Alibaba Cloud Feifei Li, at least there are several other important things that need to be considered.

"I also argue that using a large language model is not enough. We need a lot of machines and other supporting tools so that big language models play an important role in your business application," Li said recently.

According to Li, the first thing that needs to be considered is cloud computing or cloud computing. The reason is, because the company needs cloud computing infrastructure for large language model training.

Furthermore, the second and third things are databases and also big data. According to Li, companies need vector data to store more data, so companies can customize or change it for specific purposes.

"The second is database and big data. You need what we call a vector database from vector data. Why? Because briefly this technology has an impact on unstructured data such as text images and so on," he added.

"So, you need vector storage from the factor database to store these factors so that you can adjust the chatbot to the capture party, you can understand special domain knowledge and so on," concluded Li.
