JAKARTA - Binance's non-fungible token (NFT) branch announced the launch of an artificial intelligence (AI)-based NFT generator called "Bixel" that allows users to create custom artwork using AI technology.

On July 26, Binance NFT said that its NFT AI generator, named "Bixel," is now permanently available to users. According to the trading platform, this tool allows users to produce unique digital art and join the NFT world. However, for those who want to use this tool, they are required to complete the "Know Your Customer" (KYC) identity verification process from the Binance platform.

"This critical step is implemented to maintain the trust and security of the platform for all users, in line with the best practices and regulatory requirements," Binance said, quoted by Cointelegraph.

In addition, those who want to create NFT using this tool are also required to pay a printing fee of 0.008 BNB, which is equivalent to around US$1.90 (Rp29 thousand) at the time of writing this news. According to Binance, the fee ensures that the NFT creation process goes well on the BNB Smart Chain.

Binance stated that each user will be given 10 opportunities to create art for free every day.

On March 1, Binance released a beta version of the NFT AI generator and named it "Bicasso." The trial version reached full capacity in just 2.5 hours, reaching a printing limit of 10,000 NFTs.

However, just days after the beta launch, the exchange was accused of stealing the idea of an NFT AI generator from the BNB Chain hackathon winner.

On March 2, a community member named Ggoma accused Binance of plagiarizing their project called "Chatcasso," which won the first prize in the BNB Chain hackathon held in Seoul, South Korea in December 2022. When asked about the matter, a Binance spokesperson denied the allegations and claimed that Bicasso was independently developed two weeks before the hackathon.
