JAKARTA - During the Nintendo Direct display, The Pokémon Company International and Nintendo announced that Detective Pikachu Returns is scheduled to be released exclusively for Nintendo Switch on October 6, 2023.

Back in 2019, the Pokemon Company actually confirmed that a sequel to Detective Pikachu was in development, and the studio finally announced it yesterday.

According to the announcement, the new title will star the only detective in the game, Detective Pikachu, with his partner Tim Goodman.

Here, Pikachu and Team Goodman will work together to solve a series of mysterious incidents that occurred in Ryme City, where humans and Pokémon coexist.

"With the help of many other Pokemon, Tim, and Pikachu work together to solve a series of mysterious incidents that occurred in Ryme City, where humans and Pokemon live side by side," the studio wrote.

Detective Pikachu Returns launched for Nintendo Switch on October 6. Nintendo says more details about the game will be revealed in the coming weeks and months, so stay tuned.
