JAKARTA - During the Stream On live broadcast on Thursday, March 9 at one in the morning Western Indonesian Time (WIB), Spotify announced that they were launching a new feature called Smart Shuffle.
According to the audio streaming platform, Smart Shuffle will allow Spotify to shuffle the songs that match or closely match the mood of the playlist the user is listening to.
“It breathes new life into carefully curated playlists, shuffling tracks and adding new suggestions that are perfectly tailored. As a bonus, Smart Shuffle is also available for the Songs You Like playlist,” Spotify Chief Product Officer Gustav Söderström said during the live stream.

According to the company, this Smart Shuffle was created based on the Enhance benefits, which were launched in 2021 ago. Enhance lets users discover music while keeping their playlist fresh.
"With Smart Shuffle, we've taken this capability one step further by creating a new experience to keep those listening sessions green."
As a result, Gustav added that Smart Shuffle will replace Enhance and will roll out to Premium users globally on iOS and Android devices starting today.

How to use Smart Shuffle
To use Smart Shuffle, you just need to use the Shuffle button to activate the feature. After that, you'll be able to start listening to your playlist combined with new recommendations that match.
Apart from that, you also set what you want to listen to. If you want to go back to listening to your playlist while you're creating it, just tap the Smart Shuffle button again.
Spotify will add a sparkle icon (✨) next to tracks to indicate recommended music. For playlists with more than 15 songs, Spotify will also recommend one song for every three songs.
If you like what you listen to, you can save it to a playlist list. But if a recommendation misses the mark, simply tap the minus button on the Now Playing View so we can jot it down for another time.
