JAKARTA – The boss of Tesla, SpaceX and Twitter, Elon Musk has great influence over cryptocurrencies. Only tweeting about certain cryptocurrencies can move their price significantly. This time, Musk uploaded a photo of his pet dog named Floki as the new CEO of Twitter.

Of course, this post is just a joke. However, one of the crypto memes with the same name, namely Floki Inu (FLOKI) was affected by Elon Musk's tweet, so that it experienced an increase of more than 83 per cent in the last 24 hours, according to Coingecko data.

Floki Inu itself is a meme coin inspired by Elon Musk's tweet a few years ago after Tesla's boss bought a dog of the Shiba Inu type. Musk named him Floki. Simultaneously, a meme coin called Floki Inu appeared. According to its official website, FLOKI was indeed inspired by Musk's tweets.

On the other hand, the Twitter boss is a Dogecoin (DOGE) supporter. Previously, he had stated that he still owned several cryptocurrencies such as BTC, ETH, and DOGE.

In a Twitter post, Elon Musk added glasses to his pet dog's appearance and called him stylish and smart.

“Twitter's new CEO is amazing,” wrote Elon Musk (@elonmusk) on February 15, 2023, accompanied by a photo of Floki sitting in the CEO chair.

Several other dog-themed crypto memes such as Dogecoin and Shiba Inu have also seen an increase. DOGE is up 4.2 per cent and SHIB is up 7 per cent in the last 24 hours. However, the most significant gainer was the Floki Inu which skyrocketed more than 80 per cent after Musk posted a Floki-related post.

The crypto market has finally seen the light at the end of the tunnel after the dramatic crash of the famous cryptocurrency exchange, FTX. Bitcoin has been able to leave all the FTX-related downturns. The market has also recovered after getting a boost from the altcoin season with some coins delivering double and triple profits.

Floki Inu Listing on KuCoin and LCX

On the other hand, the recent increase in FLOKI is not only due to Elon Musk's tweets. In a recent announcement, one of the leading crypto exchanges, KuCoin announced it will start trading Floki Inu on its platform.

This was announced by the official KuCoin account in a Twitter post @kucoincom on February 15 yesterday. In the announcement, KuCoin notified the crypto community that FLOKI trading will begin listing on February 17 tomorrow.

The meme coin will be available in the FLOKI/USDT and FLOKI/USDC trading pairs. Apart from KuCoin, another crypto exchange, namely the LCX Exchange, also announced that it would trade Floki Inu. The announcement of the two crypto exchanges triggered an increase in the price of FLOKI in the last 24 hours.
