JAKARTA - Michael Winkelmann, a very successful digital artist, also known as Beeple, believes that all physical art in the future will one day have NFTs attached to it.

Speaking to the Wall Street Journal on December 23, Beeple suggested that NFTs would help the art industry in a big way by providing a superior method for tracing origins and storing verifiable authentic data.

“I think all paintings will eventually be NFT fitted simply because again, this is a better system than just being handed a piece of paper to you,” said Winkelmann.

“If you have a standardization around 'this is a painting,' you can get all the sources in that NFT metadata. You can own (the data) where the painting is displayed. So everything is there and can be searched in the database," he said as quoted by Cointelegraph.

As such, he thinks NFTs will eventually help build a standardized art database that "everyone can rely on". It will also accelerate NFT adaptation, especially in the arts.
