Google Chrome Update Has Security Fixes You Should Install Immediately

JAKARTA - Now, all Google Chrome users on Mac, Windows or Linux need to install app updates to protect themselves from security vulnerabilities. According to a Google blog post via The Verge, the company is aware of reports of the CVE-2022-3075 exploit.

The report came from an anonymous whistleblower on August 30, and Google said they expect the update to roll out to all users in the coming days or weeks.

Google hasn't divulged further about the nature of the bug, but what it knows at this point is that the bug has something to do with insufficient data validation in Mojo.

"Access to bug details and links may be restricted until most users are updated with fixes," Google said.

By keeping those details private for now, Google makes it harder for hackers to figure out how to exploit the vulnerability before a new update closes the chance of an attack.

Chrome users need to relaunch the browser to enable the update. This will update Chrome to version 105.0.5195.102 for Windows, Mac, and Linux.

To make sure you're using the latest version, simply click the icon with the three dots in the top right corner of your browser. Then navigate your cursor to the "Help" tab, and then "About Google Chrome" will take you to a page telling you whether Chrome is up to date on your device.
