JAKARTA - The application dedicated to photos and videos from Meta, Instagram seems to be working on a new feature called Candid Challenge.

This feature was first discovered by a mobile developer, Alessandro Paluzzi on twitter, this feature is similar to a new application for Gen Z called BeReal.

According to Paluzzi's upload, Instagram users participating in the Candid Challenges will see notifications at different times each day to take photos of their surroundings.

Then, after you allow to take photos, the Instagram camera will open by activating the Dual Camera tool facing front and back.

After that, the user only takes two minutes to take a picture. Content that goes through the Candid Challenge feature will appear as Stories.

An Instagram spokesperson confirmed to Engadget that the feature is an "internal prototype", but declined to provide additional details.

This feature is said to be similar to the features in the BeReal application. BeReal is the simplest photo sharing app to share once a day your real life in photos with friends.

This new application released in 2022 has a feature where every day at a different time, everyone takes a photo within 2 minutes. Therefore, this Instagram feature is considered inspired by BeReal.

It's uncertain when the feature will roll out widely to the Instagram app soon, as an Instagram spokesperson said they didn't test it externally.
