JAKARTA - Thousands of Instagram users from Meta Platforms Inc on Thursday, July 14 reported a problem with the photo-sharing application. This was revealed from Downdetector.com, a site that reported blackouts and problems on the internet.
Nearly 24,000 Instagram users were affected as of 5 p.m. ET (Friday 04.00 western Indonesia time), according to outage tracking website Downdetector, which compiles status reports from a number of sources in the United States.
"We are aware that some people are having trouble accessing Instagram. We are working to get things back to normal and apologize for the inconvenience," a Meta spokesperson said in an emailed statement.

According to Downdetector, currently, around 2,000 users are affected by the outage. The loss due to the blackout has not been calculated.
According to Reuters, the site previously reported on Thursday, July 14, Twitter Inc. also experienced a similar nearly three-hour outage affecting as many as 50,000 users at its peak.
