The Price Of The Cadillac Celestiq Electric Sedan Predicted To Reach IDR 4.4 Billion More Expensive Than The Escalade-V SUV

JAKARTA - Cadillac plans to price the Cadillac Celestiq electric sedan around US$300,000 or Rp. 4.4 billion.

This price is known from information from sources as reported by The Wall Street Journal quoted from Antara, Sunday, June 26.

The final price hasn't been set yet, but sources say the Celestiq could cost over $300,000 depending on additional features.

The estimated price will make the Celestiq a car in the high-end sedan category. This price even far exceeds the most expensive Cadillac model today, the Escalade-V SUV which costs US$149,990.

The Celesitq will not be produced on a large scale, just less than 500 cars each year. This car is planned to start production at the end of 2023, will be made specifically at the Warren Technical Center owned by General Motors (GM) with an invested fund of 81 million US dollars (Rp 1.2 trillion).

The Cadillac Celestiq appearance is scheduled to be unveiled at the end of July. Cadillac is still keeping details of the Celestiq's design secret, but the company says it will bring back "Cadillac's 120-year heritage" in a modern twist.

“The Celestiq's exterior and interior are designed to reflect a holistic vision of American luxury. With the Celestiq, we have taken the craft to a higher level, allowing us to add an element of beauty to the cabin," said Cadillac interior design manager Tristan Murphy.

Cadillac, founded in 1902, recently began launching the Cadillac Lyriq which is being made at GM's factory in Tennessee, USA. The Celestiq is expected to be one of several new Cadillac EVs in the coming years.

In addition to Cadillac, among a number of other premium car brands that intend to completely transition to electric vehicles and plan to sell EVs exclusively by 2030 include Mercedes-Benz, Volvo, Rolls-Royce and GM Buick.
