JAKARTA - Microsoft has started testing a new OneNote design refresh. Last year, Microsoft promised that OneNote on Windows 10 and Windows 11 would receive a series of major feature updates over the next few months.

This update is now available for beta testers to try, and can already gain access to some of the new OneNote design changes as part of the traditional desktop version of OneNote.

According to The Verge, this design change allows OneNote to log in more seamlessly. The navigation pane and full-screen mode are being updated, and the page lists, section tabs, and notebook dropdowns all look different too.

All the changes make OneNote look more modern than ever. Microsoft also uses the Mica effect, which is used in Windows 11 themes and desktop wallpapers, for the common OneNote application window.

In addition, the latest version also includes a drawing tab with tools similar to Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Other features like Shape, Ruler, Ink to Text are also included in this update.

Furthermore, the latest version of OneNote also includes support for Surface Slim Pen 2, which you can use and experience like writing on paper.

There's also page sorting, which lets you sort pages by date they were created or date modified. But, you can also sort them alphabetically. The Windows camera insert feature is also available in this beta trial.
