JAKARTA - Ubisoft announced on Tuesday, March 5th that the recently leaked Rainbow Six Mobile will be bringing the 5v5 Attackers vs Defenders gameplay of Rainbow Six Siege to mobile platforms with a free-to-play mode.

A new trailer has been released containing pre-alpha gameplay footage and in-engine cinematics. As well as displaying a roster of different Operators, there's also a destructible environment with two familiar maps, Banks and Borders, being confirmed.

According to the announcement post on Ubisoft's official website, the development team is based in Montreal. Been working on the project for more than three years.

“While we may share the same office as our counterparts from the Siege team, we are our own unique team of veterans from the worlds of AAA console and mobile games,” said the announcement.

Ubisoft also emphasizes that this is an independent team built from the ground up and focused solely on developing Rainbow Six Mobile.

While the core gameplay, launches Gamingbolt, operators and maps are similar to Siege, the development team has rebuilt everything to take advantage of mobile devices. Along with the new control system specifically for mobile, the in-game UI and presentation have also been optimized.

The overall speed seems to emphasize the gameplay allowing millions of new players to get the R6 experience. Look out for more details in the coming weeks.
